We are seeking for Analytical Unit Manager
The Analytical Manager heads the Analytical Unit, overseeing method development, validation, and routine analysis to support R&D programs. This role has a strong emphasis
on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for protein and polyphenol analysis,
but also covers other analytical techniques essential for product characterization and quality assessment. The Analytical Manager also acts as a technical representative in
discussions with collaborators, partners, and companies seeking the organization’s analytical services, ensuring scientific excellence and alignment with project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Unit Management
-Lead the Analytical Unit, managing daily operations, workload allocation, and staff performance.
- Mentor and train analysts in advanced analytical methods, focusing on HPLC/UPLC for proteins and polyphenols.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality systems, GLP/GMP as needed.
Analytical Method Development & Validation
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for active compounds, including proteins (e.g., enzymes such as bromelain) and polyphenols (e.g.resveratrol, verbascoside).
-Implement robust sample preparation protocols for diverse biological matrices, including plant cell cultures, extracts, and finished formulations.
-Ensure analytical methods meet project requirements and regulatory guidelines.
External Collaboration & Representation
-Participate in technical discussions with collaborators, partners, and companies requesting analytical services.
-Provide scientific input, explain analytical capabilities, and help define testing scope and timelines for joint projects.
- Represent the Analytical Unit in partnership meetings, ensuring alignment between analytical deliverables and project objectives.
Laboratory Operations
-Oversee instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime.
-Manage laboratory inventory, consumables, and procurement for analytical activities.
-Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable documentation of analytical processes and results.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Interpret analytical data and provide clear, actionable reports for R&D, QA, and regulatory purposes.
- Review and approve analytical results, ensuring scientific accuracy and data integrity.
- Present analytical findings in project review meetings and technical discussions. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D teams to support formulation development, stability studies, and process optimization.
-Provide analytical expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Stay informed on new analytical technologies and best practices in chromatography, spectroscopy, and bioanalytical methods.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance analytical efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in analytical method development and validation, with proven HPLC/UPLC expertise.
- Direct experience in protein and polyphenol analysis.
-Knowledge of GMP/GLP, ICH, and regulatory analytical requirements.
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in representing technical capabilities in external collaborations or customer meetings is an advantage.
- Verbal and written communication – Hebrew and English – a must
